Don is Canada's leading expert on Open Badges and consults on large scale international projects related to badges, micro-credentials and recognition. He is President of CanCred by Learning Agents, a leading Canadian cloud service for Open Badges.

In 2017, Don co-hosted the first Ontario Open Badges Forum with eCampusOntario, starting that province on its micro-credential journey. Don is a founding member of the international Open Recognition Alliance, co-author of the 2016 Bologna Open Recognition Declaration (which he encourages you to read and sign!) and currently serves as an Open Recognition Ambassador. He even maintains a badge with living evidence to prove it.

After Badge Summit, Don is helping program ePIC 2022 in Lille, France on October 19-21, the 20th anniversary of ePortfolio and Identity Conference, 10 short years after inviting Mozilla there to introduce Open Badges in 2012.
