This presentation will explain to conference attendees why the degree system cannot be maintained in any form. We need full alternative credentialing to assess and verify skills and knowledge for use in hiring. I also will lay out what the ideal system of alternative credentialing should look like: colleges should not be the issuers, it should be handled by third parties (not schools or employers), it should be a centralized system, the receiver of the credential should not have to pay, etc.
