Open Badges were invented by Mozilla back in 2011 as a better, *simpler* way to recognize lifewide skills and achievements that could carry lifelong learners into new learning and career opportunities. It was a disruption that sparked a decade of innovation. Fast-forward to 2022 and everything has gotten more complicated: the technology, the players, the hype, the concerns...

This talk will reach back to Mozilla's magical idea in 2011, that "learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom", then take us forward with suggestions to make that real in 2022.
