[RECORDING] The Future of Open Badges

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Open Badges have come a long way in a decade from an experimental technology to an interoperable credential delivery format used by hundreds of large scale higher-ed and corporate programs as well as a vibrant open recognition community. But the huge opportunities for badges to become a part of lifelong learners' everyday lives are still ahead, and powerful new patterns of use will be unlocked by upcoming changes in the Open Badges 3.0 specification. Join specification lead contributor and credential product architect Nate Otto for a tour of what's coming next and how 3.0 can change how we understand badges in our communities. Topics include Verifiable Credentials and wallets, portable cryptographically signed credentials and presentations, and skills recognition with achievement definitions shared across issuers.
