Kevin Guevara
The Loomis Chaffee School/Penn GSE Instructor/Instructional Coach
As a first-generation immigrant from El Salvador, my aspirations for education are to create equitable learning environments for students and empower educators to develop such spaces. My interests revolve around theories for motivation, equitable grading practices, implementation of appropriate research methods, and the use of technology in and beyond the classroom, especially digital badges and gamification. I currently am a History and Philosophy Instructor at the Loomis Chaffee School, a boarding school in Connecticut, and a mentor in the Independent School Teaching Residency at the University of Pennsylvania. I received a B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Pillar College and an M.Ed from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
