I have experience developing digital badges and micro-credential initiatives in Maine. I developed a unified framework that is being used by the University of Maine System (UMS), the Maine Community College System, and the Maine Department of Education-Adult Education to aid in state alignment efforts. Collaboration and alignment are important components of this work as we work to build a statewide ecosystem. UMS has worked with the Education Design Lab for several years, implementing 21st Century Skill badges in courses and programs. We offer micro-credentials to matriculated UMS students, youth, as well as adult community members, and employees. UMaine's Cooperative Extension has been a key partner in our work.
